School’s Out For Summer!
School’s out for summer, and the next six weeks are bursting with opportunities for days out,
adventure, and family fun. With so much time to fill and the great British sunshine lighting up the
Suffolk countryside, West Stow Pods is the perfect place to spend your precious holiday time.
Outdoor activities offer significant benefits for children’s physical and mental health. Fresh air and
physical exercise help children build stronger bodies, and mentally, the great outdoors provides a
break from screens, reducing stress and boosting creativity!
A stay at West Stow Pods in one of our Megapods or Woodland Lodges, which sleep up to four, means
there is room for the whole family – including four legged family members! Being so tucked away in
nature will encourage your children to explore and appreciate their surroundings through fun and
interactive activities. You can have a scavenger hunt in our dense woodland, go bird watching, or enjoy
a walk equipped with a journal to document all their discoveries. These are all excellent ways to
engage young minds.
The Suffolk countryside around our glamping site teems with diverse wildlife. You might spot a deer,
often seen grazing in the early morning or late afternoon. Barn owls, known for their distinctive white
faces and silent flight, can be spotted at dusk. Or, you may see a kingfisher—these bright blue and
orange birds are a treat to spot, perhaps at nearby Lackford Lakes or West Stow Country Park.
If you want to venture out of our site during your stay, there are plenty of activities geared towards
families with little ones in mind:
Summer of Play at Ickworth Park: Just a short drive away, Ickworth Estate is hosting a creative
‘Summer of Play’ with activities catered towards all ages. The ‘Play’ Garden features wild mazes, mud

drawings for hospitals and healthcare settings are on display, offering a unique viewing experience.
From swimming babies to helpful dragons, this exhibit is filled with unexpected delights. Prices range
