What to Pack for Your Glamping Stay at West Stow Pods (Spoiler: Not Much)

One of the nicest things guests tell us at check-out is "we brought far too much." So let's save you the boot space: West Stow Pods is glamping, not camping — most of what you need is already here. Pack a weekend bag as if you were staying with friends, add charcoal, and you're basically done.

What's Provided (So You Don't Have To Bring It)

Every unit comes with:

• All bedding and towels — beds made up ready for you
• En-suite shower room with shower gel, shampoo and toilet rolls
• Full cutlery, crockery, glasses, mugs and wine glasses, plus BBQ utensils
• Kitchen kit — kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge in every unit; the Lodges and Pod Hollow add hobs, ovens or an airfryer for proper cooking
• A BBQ of your own — brick BBQs at the Pods, mobile BBQs at the Lodges and Pod Hollow
• Heating, WiFi and a TV in every unit
• Kitchen essentials — corkscrew, can opener, washing-up liquid, sponge and tea towel

And if you do forget something small — a lighter, a phone charger, a spare fan — just message us for the code to our 'bits and bobs' shed, which is stocked with exactly the things people leave behind.

The Short List You Actually Need

• Charcoal for the BBQ — the one thing every guest should bring (firewood for our hireable smokeless fire pits is available on site, so no need to pack that)
• Walking boots or wellies — the woodland floor is often damp, even in summer
• Layers for Suffolk weather — waterproof in spring and autumn, sun cream and hats in summer, warm layers and gloves in winter
• A head torch for autumn and winter evenings — it gets properly dark here, which is exactly why the stars are so good

Then Just Bring the Comforts of Home

This is the real packing list — the bits that make a stay yours. Your favourite coffee. The book you've been meaning to finish. Board games for the pod, slippers for padding around Pod Hollow while the fire crackles, a picnic blanket for the King's Forest, binoculars for the wildlife, marshmallows for the fire pit. If your dog's coming (they're welcome everywhere), their bed, bowl and a blanket for the sofa-adjacent sulk.

For a romantic stay, a nice bottle of wine does the job — the wine glasses are already here waiting for it. And for family trips, a few crafts or games for the evenings; storybook-loving kids tend to need no entertainment at Pod Hollow beyond the round door itself.
